Filipinnovation Overview

The National and Regional Innovation Awards and Competitions (NRIAC) is a country-wide search that culminates in the Presidential Filipinnovation Awards, the highest recognition for innovation in the Philippines, as institutionalized by Executive Order No. 99 (s. 2025). The competition is a flagship mechanism of the National Innovation Council (NIC), created under the Philippine Innovation Act (RA 11293), which aims to foster innovation as a key driver of inclusive economic growth. The awards are designed to showcase the talents of Filipino innovators, connect them with investors and industry partners, and help ease the path for their innovative products or services to reach the market.

The competition process began with four Sub-National Competitions held across the National Capital Region, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. From 181 nationwide entries, fifteen outstanding finalists were selected in the focus areas of Learning and Education, Health and Well-being, and Food and Agribusiness. The final event is a five-day affair from November 3 to 7, 2025, featuring mentoring, coaching, pitching, and judging activities for the national finalists. The event will conclude with the National Competition Awarding Ceremony on November 6, 2025, where five winners will be conferred the title of Presidential Filipinnovator Awardees of the Year, receiving a medallion, plaque, grant awards, and support for scaling their innovations.
